An
introduction
Euin
Steele and Partners is an independent practice conveniently located in the
centre of Grays in Essex. The practice was founded in 1935 by Euin Steele,
who was an early a pioneer of contact lens technology and is still recognised
as a specialist in this field.
Today
the practice is owned and run by Kevin Lewis who joined as a partner in 1979
and bought the business from Euin Steel in 1982. Kevin Lewis himself has taken
on the mantle of contact lens specialist and, in addition to holding an Advanced
Diploma in Contact Lens Practice, is also a senior examiner in contact lenses
for the professional qualifications examinations!
Professional
eyecare
Our
practice has built a reputation amongst the local community for its professional
approach to eyecare and, as independents, we are able to offer un-biased,
qualified advice on a wide range of eyewear. This is very important to us
and is something that our patients certainly appreciate.
The
practice itself is located in a charming Edwardian period property which successfully
retains a homely feel which our patients enjoy. In additional to a comfortable
waiting room, complete with a selection of children's toys, we have a large
display area and a ground floor, as well as first floor, consulting room,
so wheelchair access is not a problem.
Our
on-going programme of investment in the latest eye examination and dispensing
systems technology ensures that we are able to offer the highest degree of
eyecare and professional advice at all times.
We
also operate an active domiciliary service for anyone who is housebound and
we work closely with the local hospital for those requiring medical referrals.

you choose spectacles or contact lenses, our policy is to offer high quality

We
are recognised contact lens specialists and offer a full range of contact
lenses, including the very latest extended wear and one day disposable options.
Once we have assessed the suitability of your eyes for contact lens wear (and
not everyone can wear them), will we recommend an all-inclusive contact lens
eyecare programme using whatever lenses best suit you. We will also advise
you on fitting, hygiene procedures and how, generally, to make best use of
your lenses.
For
spectacle wearers, we offer a wide range of quality frames from budget styles
through to the very latest in fashionable designer collections. Our investment
in technology enables us to supply lenses that are thinner than standard lenses.
These not only look good, in terms of less distortion etc, but are also lighter
and so far more comfortable to wear.
Our
experienced staff can help you select the frames styles that best suit you
and our optometrists can explain the various lens options available to you.
In addition to spectacles and contact lenses, we specialise in the Wimbledon range of Prescription Sunglasses. These offer 100% UV protection and are available in single vision, bifocal & varifocal options.
