Soft Contact Lenses
Soft lenses are the most popular choice worldwide, offering comfort, easy adaptation, and flexible wear—from occasional to all-day use. Available as daily, two-weekly, monthly, or extended wear, they come in single vision and multifocal designs. While convenient, they carry a slightly higher risk of infection and can be more costly over time.
Rigid Gas-Permeable (RGP) Lenses
Custom-made RGP lenses provide sharper vision, lower infection risk, and greater durability. After a 2–3 week adaptation period, they can be worn comfortably long-term. Suitable for complex prescriptions and conditions like keratoconus, with options including single vision, multifocal, and newer semi-scleral designs.
Hybrid Lenses
Hybrid lenses combine an RGP centre with a soft outer skirt, offering the clarity of RGP with the comfort of soft lenses. Worn by patients of all ages, they are ideal for astigmatism and keratoconus, with replacement typically every six months.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is a non-surgical treatment that uses specially designed rigid gas-permeable (GP) lenses to temporarily reshape the cornea and reduce myopia (short-sightedness). Lenses are worn overnight, allowing clear vision throughout the day without glasses or contact lenses.
Who can it benefit?
Ortho-K is most effective for children aged 8–12 with progressive myopia, as well as many teenagers and adults under 40 with low to mild prescriptions. It may not be suitable for those with dry eyes, large pupils, or high myopia.
How it works
After a thorough assessment, custom GP lenses are worn overnight. Within 1–2 weeks, the cornea is gently reshaped, improving vision gradually. Some patients may temporarily need soft lenses during the day until vision stabilises.
Ongoing wear and results
Once corrected, lenses are worn at night to maintain clear daytime vision, either nightly or a few times per week, depending on the individual. Regular check-ups ensure proper fit and eye health, and lenses must be cleaned and disinfected daily.

Keratoconus
Keratoconus causes the cornea to thin and form a cone shape, leading to blurred, distorted vision and light sensitivity. Early stages may be managed with glasses or soft lenses, but advanced cases often require rigid gas-permeable (RGP), soft, or hybrid lenses, along with regular follow-ups and corneal imaging. In severe cases, a corneal transplant may be necessary.
Pellucid Marginal Degeneration (PMD)
PMD is a rare condition causing thinning of the lower cornea, often poorly corrected with glasses. Specialised RGP, soft, or hybrid lenses can significantly improve vision.
Corneal Scarring
Scarring from injury or infection can affect vision and appearance. Bespoke cosmetic lenses are available to mask scarring while restoring a natural look, with options for vision correction or occlusion. Each lens is individually crafted, often hand-painted, and may require extra fittings for optimal results
